Very important is a home loss of third rankedMarineros (6-6) against sixth ranked Titanes (6-6) on Friday night. Host Marineros were defeated by Titanes in a tough game in Puerto Plata 83-87 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Marineros. Titanes brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Swingman Jassel Perez (195-2001) notched 24 points to lead the effort and American center Chad Brown (206-1996, college: UCF) supported him with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocks. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 18 points and 7 rebounds by forward Rich Polanco (203-1997, college: S.Dakota) did not help to save the game for Marineros . American forward Sydney Curry (203-2000, college: GCU) added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Four Titanes and five Marineros players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Marineros.
